Alternative Tactical Data Links (TDL) for Aerospace Command and Control |

The scope of this study is to assess alternative TDL for Command and Control, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C2ISR) mission in a network warfare environment.
The objectives of the study are the following: - analize the adequacy of current TDL and current evolving TDL in the context of current and future requirements, taking into account results of the latest Trial Hummer Campaign;
- assess potential new TDL, including wheter there is a need to “missionized” data links for critical operational areas to include time-sensitive targeting, weapons controls and joint ISR;
- determine the interoperability requirements for TDL in support of NATO operations.
The expected results is to promulgate recommendations about: - TDL development, including performance, timescales and cost-benefit analysis;
- achievement of TDL interoperability in NATO operations and in the NATO NEC context, including need for STANAG development.
