High Speed Digital Optical System

Vitrociset has designed and developed a new digital optical system with the integration of a digital camera on a mechanical stand. The camera is mounted directly on the focal optical plane and includes:

• A device for automatic or manual focus;
• Frame rate and exposure time control through an external timing signal.
  

Azimuth and Elevation Encoder is directly built in the mechanical stand in order to ensure linear rotation, with low values of eccentricity in angle readings.

The serial encoder provides information of the angle sensor to the data processing system through serial to parallel conversion.

External images are captured and processed through a Digital Video Recording System (DVRS) with the following characteristics:

• Video signal decoding;
• Time stamp addition;
• Opportunity to export footage in “AVI” uncompressed format;
• Storage of all information on SCSI HDD media by FC interface;
• Real-time viewing of images from the camera on a local display;
• Error post-processing and correction;
• Tilt Meter functionality.
