 The ATRES system (Air Traffic Environment Simulator) developed by VITROCISET is an air navigation simulator used both for the air traffic controllers training and ATC automation systems testing.
The following main configurations are foreseen:
- ATRES “Training” (ATRES-T): this configuration is dedicated both to ATC controllers training and new ATC procedures design, analysis and registration.
- ATRES “Validation” (ATRES-V): it allows validating new operational software releases (FDP or RDP) and checking loads by generating specific loading or traffic conditions towards ATC operational system.
- ATRES “Ground” (ATRES-G): it enables the ground traffic simulation both of aircrafts and vehicles in the airport area.
- ATRES “Combined” (ATRES-C): it is able to simulate a combined (ground-air) traffic scenario to control the traffic during all flight phases.
Each system release provides features for showing onto the radar/ATC display a virtual traffic situation planned by the trainers and exactly alike to a real one in terms of timing and evolution. In training mode, the system can be configured to contemporary execute a number of different, independent simulation sessions.
