The Globalization of infrastructure networks and the ever growing threats to homeland security, compulsorily require the utmost protection of territory, infrastructure and people from terrorist attacks, criminal acts and - more generally - from any threats to deal with. Vitrociset deems that such elements as: harmonization of operating processes, analysis of security missions - in cooperation with Institutions in charge of security -, as well as the choice of state-of-the-art technologies and platforms are instrumental in the integration process of proven solutions meeting drastic security and cost reduction requirements. Through integrated design and development efforts, Vitrociset has come up with protection systems, structures and facilities able to safeguard the “human element” vulnerability, in terms of physical and information security, in many diverse environments and sectors, such as:
Vitrociset has in-house skills to develop SOA-based ICT infrastructures. In fact, the systems adopted for threat and risk analysis make use of techniques which enhance such processes as critical task analysis, priority assignment, multi-agency coordination, decision- decision-making support as well as the gathering, classification and sharing of information and intelligence. In the Land Protection and Control area, Vitrociset has gained high-level skills in design and development of systems for: surveillance, integration and management of remotely-sensed data/information, electronic imaging management, real-time intrusion detection, support for investigation of suspect or dangerous characters, as well as monitoring systems for migration flows and “virtual border” security systems for the Italian airspace Based on significant experience and skills gained through the use and IT management of various types of fixed and mobile sensors (an example of the latter is the UAV – Unmanned Air Vehicle) Vitrociset now develops and supplies solutions where high flexibility in Command & Control and Decision Support situations is a top-priority requirement. Vitrociset has become an important partner of the Italian Ministry of the Interior with projects for the control of migration flows by air and sea, and has extended its activity in the sector of Citizens’ Security by completing the conclusion of PON contracts (2000 to 2006) on the “Digital Radio Link Network for South Italian Regions”. .
