In addition to such standard logistics application modules as the
Material Management, Maintenance Management, Configuration Management,
Analytical Accounting and Technical Documentation Management, the SILEF
solution also provides for a leading-edge Decision Support system
enabling the production of any kind of synthesis data report, and the
performance of drill-down inquiries every time operational process
malfunctions and/or irregularities take place. Furthermore, SILEF
supports the management of personnel recruitment (SIPAM subsystem) and
salary administration (CELDRA subsystem) areas. Some additional
services are also provided under the SILEF programme, which ensure high
operational availability of IT systems, technical assistance to IAF
personnel on the use of system, as well as logistics specialist
consulting services. Specifically:
- System Operations: securing complete running of IT system and the performance of hardware and basic software maintenance tasks;
- Software
Maintenance: this service secures the correct operation of the
application software, as well as its permanent functional
adaptive/perfective process, so as to keep up with the user’s needs and
the growing stringent logistic/operational constraints.
- Help-Desk:
It is the information and assistance resource that troubleshoots all
problems of the SILEF system, providing SILEF users with a central
point to receive help on various technical and functional system
issues; according to the type of issue, different teams – experienced
in working on different topics – are assigned the related problem
solving tasks, i.e. the desk-side team (sometimes known as “desktop
support”) for desktops, laptop and peripherals issues or the functional
support team for application software analysis and malfunction/problem
solving tasks.
- Training: this service fully meets the user’s
training requirements by the supply of traditional classroom courses
and/or computer-based training sessions.
- On-site Consulting: ensures the support of specialist technical personnel for the Italian Air Force, at the latter’s offices.
- Automated
Warehouse Maintenance: proper running of automated warehouses is
secured through corrective and preventive/scheduled maintenance
services.
