Neptune is a Vitrociset-developed innovative system, extensively used in managing integrated logistics support for highly complex systems. It is a web-based, easily accessible product that may be simply used by means of any web browser software applications, thus avoiding complex installation procedures for the user’s machine configuration. Neptune combines into a sole tool the following functional modules, the synergic ability of which significantly increases the overall resulting benefits:
Owing to its integration with the Maintenance management application, the Configuration Management module provides support for managing the entire system/equipment change process, from the formal change request submission through its approval, to the actual system/equipment technical change introduction. The Maintenance Management application is designed to automate the myriad of things which need to be done regularly to keep maintenance activity running fluidly and without any downtime. The module encompasses maintenance and resource planning, trouble ticketing, troubleshooting, failure analysis and work order management templates, and thus tracks maintenance process from its planning and analysis stage, to the actual task execution. The Material/Procurement Management module is a powerful support application for managing spare parts, consumables and maintenance support tools inventories. Its integration with the Maintenance Management module permits the determination of proper spare part quantities based on actual maintenance requirements, as well as the monitoring of warehouse stockpile and stock-out levels in order to proceed with ad-hoc material replenishment and backordering policies. In this way, within the Supply Chain, all times of procurement process are minimized with workflow-driven processing functions, thus lowering procurement and warehousing costs with accurate inventory and warehouse management, as well as reduced time-to-market periods. In addition, the application makes available warehousing management statistical reports and performance indicators that may be tailored, on a case-by-case basis, to the service level required for each specific project (SLA-Service Level Agreement). The Documentation Management application as well is combined with the other ones and promotes the finding and sharing of documentary information easily, wherever and whichever it may be, and its prompt retrieval. The Document Management module controls the life cycle of documents in any organization – how they are created, reviewed, published and consumed, and how they are ultimately disposed of or retained - and organizes content in a logical way, by documentation tree and baselines, making it easy to standardize the creation and presentation of contents and to consult the documentation in file format. The Logistics Analysis module includes the following tasks of LSA process:
