Vitrociset

The ATIS System (Automatic Terminal area Informaion Service) isi designed to broadcast in real time mode on VHF channels and data links information on the weather situation and on the state of the airport equipment of the airport competence.

The service is automatically supplied through an elaboration of the data recived  from the local meteorological system (AWOS) or from the AFTN and the extra information manually introduced  by the operator.

Messages are translated in an audio bulletin that will be transmitted on the audio channels and/or along telephonic lines both by concatenation of pre-recorded words and by synthesized speech.

Main system features are:

• Automatic acquisition and processing of local airport meteorological and/or aeronautical information;
• Automatic acquisition and processing of the local meteorological real time information;
• Message preview on local loudspeaker or headset;
• Automatic/manual message key handling;
• Local microphone may be used to record and replace voice message;
• Vocabulary enlargement and customization provided as on-line functions;
• Telephone line supported with on-call message transmission;
• Processing of information about runway conditions, breaking action, trend, wind shear and other airport information;
• VHF channel transmitters, VHF Data Link supported up to four VHF channels available in basic configuration.

An on-line phonetic customization feature is provided to get the right pronunciation of location names and other site-specific words.
