Development of an innovative system for the webcasts of
audio/video live contents or footage from the archives of the Italian
Chamber of Deputies (Web TV 2.0) In order to promote
citizens’ participation in democratic life, the Italian Chamber of
Deputies has developed an innovative system for live or on-demand
webcasts of internally produced audio/video contents.
Multiple innovations were introduced in the Chamber of Deputies Web TV service:
- consultation
of detailed documents contextually with the specific video contents
reproduced (such as, transcripts of speeches while the Chamber
session is being viewed)
- the simultaneous cast in a
multi-screen matrix of live parliamentary sessions of the Italian
Chamber of Deputies and Senate as well as of library contents
- consultation of a TV guide of past, present and future sessions, organised by the same themes in which the Portal is structured
- an
extremely intuitive and user-friendly interface, through the
introduction of a virtual remote control for users to surf between the
various contents by simply ‘changing channel’
- an articulate search engine integrating all of the multimedia archive contents
